Endurance

Through the pains of this very dreadful clime,
Waiting for sweet zephyrs to blow in time,
Hoping for lovelier days with a warm gust,
Struggling to suppress the inner Spring lust,
Confronting the bitter foe at its prime.

As icy bells of Winter crisply chime,
Chiming sans pardon, for a lengthy time.
Patience is key, and hard feelings adjust,
So learn to love this foe.

While fools lament the season’s slush and slime,
Endure and prove your wisdom, so sublime.
Winter’s frozen heart will melt, you should trust.
As the Heavens are just, Springtime will thrust
Its lovely colors and come in due time,
So learn to love this foe.
