Think Before You Act

Tom was a superstar athlete,
The student everyone called sweet.
He was a model for many:
Smart, kind, and not even twenty.

He made his parents beam with joy;
They were proud of their little boy.
Tom dreamed to be an engineer,
And was the “Student of the Year.”

But everybody makes mistakes.
Tom’s was made at very high stakes.
He partied and drank a great deal
That one night when his life was sealed.

Tom’s friends felt guilty at his fate,
But they had tried to make him wait.
Tom had left irate from the bar.
Blurred in sight, he started the car.

Tom was a superstar athlete,
The student everyone called sweet.
He was a model for many:
Smart, kind, but died before twenty.
